One on one trainings are tailored to the specific strengthens and weaknesses of the individual so there is no wasted time on areas they already know. In-house trainings are similarly designed specifically for each organization and its needs. In-house trainings are excellent for organization with multiple development staff people, umbrella organizations or foundations that serve multiple NGOs.

NGO Catalyst runs multiple courses every year that anyone can join. There is a 6 -8 week general course that covers all of the basic information necessary to manage the resource development operations for a nonprofit organization. Classes are once a week and total 25 hours of instruction. This course is offered 3-4 times a year, at least once in an on-line format.

There is also a shorter basic course which in 10 hours covers the basic knowledge necessary for an entry level grant writing or development associate position.  There are also short advanced courses on specific subjects that run throughout the year. Class sizes are kept small intentionally to maximize participation. All of NGO Catalyst’s courses are 100% practical. For those who are already working, you will return to work the next day with new specific things to do that will improve your efficiency and help you succeed.

For those who are looking to newly enter the field, course participants who demonstrate proficiency are provided networking and job search assistance at no additional cost. Some have even been hired before the course is finished.
